MINDSPLATTER YEAR 1 FUN FACTS

1.  Mindsplatter's most popular issue was the one released in May 2023 and I have NO IDEA WHY....but I'll take it.

2. I produced 46 Mindsplatter promo images for social media this year, not including different versions of the Splatter banners, a few videos and more.

3. A significant amount of Mindsplatter's traffic comes from my social media accounts, especially my Linkedin and Twitter/X profiles. So when I make these dumb promo images I put thought and care into EVERY SINGLE ONE.

New York Comic Con 2023

After an epic journey through Dublin and Iceland I landed in NYC and got ready to burst into Comic Con like the goddamn Kool Aid man. If you're wondering how the northern adventure went, here's the picture that sums it all up: 

New York Comic Con was packed and Edenfrost got one hell of a preview. As mentioned in last month's splatter, for the first time ever physical copies of issue #1 were being sold exclusively to attendees. Mad Cave Studios had a fantastic booth with Edenfrost at the forefront, along with a few other titles from their catalog. Seeing it all in person was exciting and a bit surreal.

After months of online interactions, on Friday I finally got to do an in-person signing with Edenfrost's god-tier artist Bruno Frenda, badass letterer Taylor Esposito and our brilliant Mad Cave appointed editor James B. Emmett. We were all shocked by how many people stopped by, so here's hoping it's an indication of things to come.

I had the opportunity to talk more about the title as a panelist at the Mad Cave Buzz event on Sunday. In the capture below, you can see me discuss what inspired me to create Edenfrost, the themes and messages behind it, and what I hope readers take away from reading it. Check it out:

I felt privileged to be surrounded by such a talented group of writers. Now all that's left to do is launch this damn title on November 22, 2023 and hope for the best...no pressure! *Gulp*

What's next for Mindsplatter?

In terms of my work as a creator, 2024 will be a crucial year. With two graphic novels coming from Humanoids and another monthly series from Mad Cave Studios, I want Mindsplatter to become a communication channel between me and my base. So what can you expect to see in this zine's second year?
 

1. Updates about all upcoming original titles: Edenfrost, Stomping Grounds, Post Mortal and The Last Wardens.

2. A sneak peek at new projects in development.

3. More episodes of "How the Sausage is Made" - focused on all upcoming original titles. Each time a new issue or book is released, I'll create some cool "behind the scenes" segments, revealing Mindsplatter-exclusive development materials.

4. More media recommendations! Apologies for not having those in the last few issues. I had to dedicate the space to...well, you know!

5. Fuck if I know! Let's see where this next year takes us!
